Vivian Gornick

b. 1935

Vivian Gornick grew up in New York City and is a critic and memoir writer. A former contributor to the Village Voice, she has also taught at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, Hunter College, and The New School. Her works have been nominated for the National Book Award and the National Book Critics Circle Award.
