Victor Perera

1934–2003

Born in Guatemala, Victor Perera came to the United States at age twelve. He taught journalism and creative writing at the University of California at Santa Cruz and Berkeley. The author of novels, short stories, and nonfiction, Perera wrote about the cultures of Sephardic Jews and Maya Indians.
