Teresa Porzecanski

b. 1945

Uruguayan-born Teresa Porzecanski is a novelist and a professor of social work and anthropology at the University of the Republic in Montevideo. Her novels and collections of short stories, which have been translated into several languages, often adopt a sense of timelessness. Among other awards, she received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1992.
