Stanislaw Adler

d. 1946

Stanislaw Adler was a lawyer and officer with the Jüdischer Ordnungsdienst, the Jewish police force in the Warsaw ghetto, as well as director of the housing office. His detailed account of the events leading up to the resettlement and liquidation of the largest Jewish community in Poland provides an inside view of the conditions that allowed for the creation and maintenance of the ghetto from 1940 to 1943. Adler committed suicide in 1946, after the Kielce pogrom.
