Sonia Levitin

b. 1934

Born in Berlin, Sonia Levitin moved to Brazil, back to Germany, and then to New York before World War II. She lives in California. She has written more than forty books for children and young adults; many of her stories are drawn from her own childhood experiences. Levitin also teaches writing and literature, and has received two National Jewish Book Awards.
