Shimon Korbman

The Russian-born photographer Shimon Korbman was active in Tel Aviv in the interwar years. His photographs convey the nascent urbanity of Jewish life in Tel Aviv and the importance of beach life—swimming, strolling, sunbathing, and bicycling—in the daily life of its residents.
