Samuel Menashe

1925–2011

Poet Samuel Menashe was born and raised in New York City. He fought in World War II, studied at the Sorbonne, and returned to New York where he taught literature and writing. In 2004, Menashe received the inaugural Neglected Masters Award from the Poetry Foundation.
