Samuel Ibn Danan
1668–ca. 1730
Samuel ben Saul Ibn Danan was a member of the Ibn Danan family, a Moroccan rabbinic and scholarly family of some standing. He embarked on editing the family chronicle and a history of the Jews of Fez, which was continued by his descendants over the following three centuries. Ahavat ha-kadmonim, a prayer book according to the Fez tradition, is also attributed to him.
