Peter Sacks

b. 1950

South African-born Peter Sacks, who immigrated to the United States in 1970, is a professor of English at Harvard University. He has published scholarly texts as well as collections of poetry. Sacks’s work, which often addresses the relationship between literature and art, received the 1985 Phi Beta Kappa Christian Gauss Award and first prize in the 1999 University of Georgia Contemporary Poetry Series contest.
