Paula Hyman

1946–2011

Paula Hyman was a Boston-born scholar and professor of modern Jewish history at Yale University, specializing in European and American Jewish history and Jewish women’s history. The recipient of the National Jewish Book Award, Hyman was a contributor to numerous Jewish and feminist journals. She also served as the first female dean of the Seminary College of Jewish Studies at the Jewish Theological Seminary.
