Paul Wellstone
1944–2002
Brought up in Virginia, Paul Wellstone was a po liti cal science professor at Carleton College and a two- term U.S. Senator (Dem.) from Minnesota. Noted for his progressive and populist politics, he died tragically in an airplane crash.
