Paul Cowan

1940–1988

Paul Cowan, a journalist and social critic from an assimilated family in Chicago, served as a staff writer for the Village Voice for more than twenty years. His writing addressed Jewish identity, his experiences in the Peace Corps, the war in Vietnam, and the civil rights movement.
