Melvin Jules Bukiet

b. 1953

Born in New York City, Melvin Jules Bukiet is the author of several novels and collections of short stories that often contain Jewish historical motifs. He teaches writing at Sarah Lawrence College and is also an editor and literary critic. Bukiet received the Edward Lewis Wallant Award, and was named to the National Book Critics’ Circle Recommended Reading List in 1995.
