Laura Geller

b. 1950

Laura Geller grew up in Brookline, Massachusetts, and New York City. One of the first women ordained by Hebrew Union College as a Reform rabbi in the United States, she has served since 1994 as senior rabbi of Temple Emanuel in Beverly Hills, California. She was executive director of the American Jewish Congress, Pacific Southwest region, and director of Hillel at University of Southern California. Geller has contributed essays on topics such as gender in Judaism to a number of major collections.
