Larry Zolf
1934–2011
A bold, eccentric journalist with a comedic streak, Larry Zolf logged four decades with the Canadian Broadcasting Company. With a quick mind and an even quicker tongue, Zolf shifted between sober interviews and zany send-ups, amusing and baffling his Canadian viewers. He fought with politicians, sometimes physically, on the air, and branded himself a “mischief maker”—a redundant, if accurate, label. Born in Winnipeg, Zolf wrote six caustic and humorous books about Canadian politics, earning the title “Canada’s Most Compelling Court Jester.”
