Kate Simon
1912–1990
Born in Poland, Kate Simon grew up in New York City. She wrote several memoirs and was a prolific author of travel guides. In 1982 the National Book Critics Circle named Simon’s autobiographical Bronx Primitive among the most distinguished books of the year.
