Jerome Rothenberg

b. 1931

Poet Jerome Rothenberg was born and raised in New York City. He has written and edited more than seventy books and has translated works from German. He refers to his style as “ethnopoetics,” and is a member of both the visual arts and literature faculties at the University of California, San Diego. Rothenberg’s works have received the PEN-Oakland Josephine Miles Award and the PEN Center USA West Award.
