Jacob Ibn Adoniyahu
d. after 1572
Jacob ben ḥayim Ibn Adoniyahu was educated in Tunisia. Fleeing to Europe in 1510, he wandered until arriving in Venice in 1520. There he was employed by the printer Daniel Bomberg as a corrector and editor. Ibn Adoniyahu was involved in the printing of works of Talmud, halakhah, and kabbalah. The various colophons and introductions that he wrote for these works demonstrate his close acquaintance with rabbinic literature. Ibn Adoniyahu convinced Bomberg to print the Biblia Rabbinica in 1525, which Ibn Adoniyahu edited.
