J. David Bleich

b. 1936

Born in Pennsylvania, J. David Bleich is a scholar of Jewish law, ethics, and bioethics, and is a professor of Talmud at the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary. Bleich also holds the Herbert and Florence Tenzer Chair at Yeshiva University. An author, editor, and former Woodrow Wilson fellow, Bleich serves as rabbi at Congregation B’nai Jehuda in Manhattan.
