Imre (Dunajecz Jakab) Abadi
Imre Abádi (Jakab Dunajecz) was a Hungarian journalist, translator, and author of poetry and prose fiction. He seems to have had strong connections with the Jewish community in prestate Palestine and visited several times. Abádi wrote for the well-known and highly respected artistic and literary illustrated periodical Múlt és Jövő (Past and Future), which attracted submissions from Jewish scholars all over the globe. Abádi’s name appeared on the list of Jewish writers excluded from Hungarian intellectual life in 1944. His son, Ervin (Aharon) Abádi, later achieved fame as a Hungarian writer in Israel.
