Hamutal Bar-Yosef

b. 1940

Poet, translator, and researcher in Hebrew literature, Hamutal Bar-Yosef was born at Kibbutz Tel Yosef. She has taught Hebrew literature at Ben-Gurion University, and writes literary criticism, short stories, poetry, and children’s literature. Aside from her own artistic work, Bar-Yosef is a researcher and translator whose areas of expertise include Russian Jewish literature and mysticism in Hebrew poetry. Bar-Yosef has received the President’s Prize (2002) and the Brenner Prize (2005).
