Georg Ehrlich

1897–1966

Georg Ehrlich was a multidisciplinary artist born and educated in Vienna. Ehrlich studied painting at the Arts and Crafts School in Vienna before serving as an officer in the Austrian army between 1915 and 1918. After his military service, Ehrlich devoted himself to art, first experimenting with painting and printmaking, and eventually focusing on sculpture. The political climate of Austria became increasingly threatening, and in 1937 Ehrlich moved to the United Kingdom. Ehrlich continued to travel internationally to create and exhibit his bronze-cast figurative sculptures.
