Gary Shteyngart

b. 1972

Born in Leningrad and now living in the United States, Gary Shteyngart is a novelist whose often satiric works portray the immigrant experience. Shteyngart has taught writing at Hunter College and Columbia University. He received the Stephen Crane Award for First Fiction and the National Jewish Book Award.
