Felix Weltsch

1884–1964

Felix Weltsch—philosopher, journalist, and academic librarian—belonged to the Prague Circle of young Jewish intellectuals, whose members included Max Brod and Franz Kafka. A Zionist from his youth, he edited the main Zionist weekly in interwar Czechoslovakia, Selbstwehr. He fled Prague in 1939 and settled in Jerusalem, where he found a position in the Jewish National and University Library.
