Eugene B. Borowitz

1924–2016

Eugene B. Borowitz grew up in Columbus, Ohio, and was ordained as a rabbi by Hebrew Union College. He was a professor of education and Jewish religious thought at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. The founding editor of Sh’ma: A Journal of Jewish Responsibility, Borowitz was a recipient of the National Jewish Book Award and the Eisendrath Prize for his contributions to Reform Judaism.
