Elijah Falkon

16th Century

We lack information about the life of Elijah Falkon (possibly Falken, Folqen, or Folken), who wrote an account of an exorcism that took place in 1571 in Safed. The verity of the account was certified by witnesses, among them the kabbalist Solomon Alkabetz (1505–1584). In all likelihood, Falkon was one of Alkabetz’s contemporaries in the mystical circles of Safed.
