Dovid Diamant
1903–1994
Born in Hrubieszów, Poland, Dovid Diamant (born Erlich) was a member of the French Communist Party and of the French Resistance. Although he was offered safe passage to England several times, he remained in France throughout the war. Afterward, Diamant worked with the Union des juifs pour la résistance et l’entraide (Jewish Union for Resistance and Mutual Aid) to assist Jewish refugees. Diamant also dedicated himself to the documentation of Jewish resistance in France and Poland, especially by communist organizations, and he published widely on the materials he collected.
