Dorothy Gallagher

Dorothy Gallagher was born and brought up in New York City. In addition to writing biographies and autobiographical books about Jewish immigrant life, she has written for the New York Times and Harper’s. Gallagher was also a feature editor at Redbook. In 2002 she received the Koret Book Award.
