Doron Rabinovici
Historian, novelist, short story writer, and essayist Doron Rabinovici was born in Tel Aviv, and moved to Austria in 1964. He has written novels, a collection of stories, numerous essays, and a historical book examining the role of the Judenrat in the Holocaust. In 1999 he became a leading organizer of the Demokratische Offensive (Democratic Offensive), a movement protesting the nationalist policies of Jörg Haider’s extreme right-wing party. Among other awards, Rabinovici has received the Ernst Robert Curtius Prize, the Jean Améry Prize, and the Clemens Brentano Prize.
