Chaim Ben-Kiki

1887–1935

A Sephardic intellectual and critic of Western intrusions into the Middle East, Chaim Ben-Kiki was born in Tiberias, the son of the chief rabbi of the Tiberias bet din. He lived and worked his entire life in Tiberias. Little is known about him. Many of his polemics appeared in Do’ar hayom.
