Carol Matas
b. 1949
Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she lives, Carol Matas has written more than forty books for children, including historical fiction, books about the Holocaust, fantasy titles, and novels for young readers. Daniel’s Story was written at the request of the United States Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. Matas’s awards include five Sydney Taylor Honor Book citations.
