André Glucksmann

1937–2015

Born in Boulogne-Billancourt, André Glucksmann was a polemicist and human-rights advocate. He studied in Lyon and earned a degree in philosophy from the Ecole normale supérieure. After participating in the events of May 1968, Glucksmann published Le Discours de la guerre. He was a leading figure in the debates of the Nouveaux philosophes. Glucksmann was associated with the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique.
