Alicia Steimberg

1933–2012
Alicia Steimberg was born in Buenos Aires and was a novelist, educator, and translator. Best known for her fiction writing, she also published short stories and books for adolescents. Her work was strongly autobiographical and often satirical. Her novel Cuando digo Magdalena (Call Me Magdalena) received the Premio Planeta Biblioteca del Sur award in 1992.
