Adin Steinsaltz

Adin Steinsaltz (Even Yisrael) is a Hasidic rabbi and Talmudic scholar. Born in Jerusalem to a secular family, he became observant at the age of ten and attended a Chabad yeshiva and other religious institutions. In 1965 he founded the Israel Institute for Talmudic Publications. His greatest endeavor, The Talmud: The Steinsaltz Edition, has received broad acclaim and was completed in 2010. He was an Israel Prize Laureate for 1988.
