Adele Wiseman

1928–1992

Born in Winnipeg, Adele Wiseman incorporated many images of the Jewish immigrant communities of the Canadian prairie into her novels, essays, and short stories. Wiseman studied at the University of Manitoba and later lived in England and Italy. She received the Governor General’s Award of Canada.
