Arthur Hertzberg

1921–2006

Polish-born Arthur Hertzberg came to the United States in 1926 and became a prominent voice of modern Judaism in his roles as a Conservative rabbi, scholar, and communal activist. He advocated on behalf of civil rights, Zionism, and interfaith dialogue.
